What is psychodynamic psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy or counselling is a process between client and therapist which is aimed at developing an understanding of the issues, that you, the client might have identified as being difficult or troublesome as well as issues or difficulties which only become apparent after some time. Psychodynamic psychotherapy in particular pays attention to how your past experiences have shaped how you relate to yourself and other people now; it's an opportunity to talk about any thoughts and feelings which might be troubling and which you may not have spoken about with anyone before.

What benefits do people report?
The difficulties that you might want to address by coming to therapy are likely to have developed over some time and might be quite complex; it is therefore not realistic to expect things to change in a matter weeks - therapy can help change your life significantly, but it takes time to allow for this to take place.
